HURRICANE ISABEL IS BUSH PLOT TO JUMP-START ECONOMY

Staff report.  [September 14, 2003]

[WeeklyUniverse.com] Panicky news reports about the destruction to be wrecked by Hurricane Isabel when it reaches the US's eastern seaboard is a plot by the Bush administration to jump-start a weak economy.

This theory was floated by a caller on radio's syndicated Matt Drudge Show, on Sunday, September 14, 2003, between approximately 7:20 - 7:35 pm.

According to the caller's theory, the National Weather service knows that Hurricane Isabel will cause no great harm, but the Bush administration is suppressing this good news so that frightened people will buy massive amounts of food and other supplies, and have "hurricane parties." Bush is hoping that this buying spree -- induced by false hurricane reports -- will jump-start the economy.
